Thales Host Security Modules are tamper-resistant hardware modules that provide cryptographic processing to support payment transactions. They are connected as back-end devices to host computers. All processes that involve the use of encryption keys are performed inside the module.

These modules are used by major financial institutions around the world to process payment transactions.

Facilities available in the modules include:

• Magnetic stripe and EMV Chip Card transaction processing
• ATM Remote Key Loading
• PIN Generation, Translation and Verification
• MAC Generation and Verification
• Key Management
